By Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith I intend to illustrate an alternative book cover for the novel and with that in mind, select five other non-horror novels and illustrate the book covers for them with the idea of zombies e.g. Moby Dick…and Zombies!

sketchbook work of the island of Dr.Moreau
The image above is a sketch of characters from The Island Of Dr.Moreau by H. G Wells. The book tells the tale of a shipwrecked sailor named Edward Pendrick who stumbles upon a mysterious island which is home to Dr. Moreau who conducts research on the animals on the island trying to complete a transformation from Animal to Human resulting in beast men who both fear and worship Moreau. An uprising and power struggle soon occurs and Pendrick must fight for his own survival. The story appealed to me mainly due to the strange monster like creatures and the mysterious setting.
